Hello and welcome back to my blog!
This was a pretty busy week and I often returned home pretty tired, but there were a few key things that happened which I want to talk about. First, we have finished our oral history training as of Tuesday, and I must say that I am eternally grateful for the training. The interviews seemed rather daunting at first, but now that we learned the process and how to conduct them, I feel much more confident. This is exceptionally important as we have several contacts who we need to reach out to so these will be an interesting few months. Second, at Banting House I have finally, mostly finished sorting through the emails and images of the tattoos and we are nearly read to begin working out the setup for the new exhibit. I have also progressively been enjoying giving tours more over these weeks to the point where I can give them rather competently I feel. Those I give tours to really seem to have enjoyed their visit as well which is always a massive plus to me. Finally, on Thursday, we had a chance to meet with some of the Graduates of the Western University Public History Program over drinks and food. I don't drink alcohol so I tried a Shirley Temple instead. It was great! We exchanged questions, information, and stories among one another and I feel that we learned a lot of crucial information which will help us down the line, while also having relieved some of our concerns. This was just part of my week that I wanted o share with you, and until next week, thank you for reading!
